I have just been speaking to Andy today, and David's
new website is up and running....it looks very good too Very Happy
The support and advice i have had from David and his team
throughout the run up to the protest and it is still ongoing
and is invaluable.
Election date
Nominations must please be in by July 1st.
Anyone who is a registered member is elligible nominate themselves or a consenting other.
All members are elligible to vote.
Liason
I'd love to be involved and help out.  Only post i'd really be interested in without knowing more about what would be involved would be Liason.  I don't mean timewise.  Maybe I'd be ok with the other posts as well if I knew what they would require of me.

Basically, this is me putting myself forward as Liason Officer.

I'm also (well was) a website and design professional before becoming a carer and happy to assist you using those skills as and if needed and happy to use these ...
A Meeting With the DWP
I would like to bring to your attention that this
report came from CarersUK and is a synopsis of the
meeting held at Caxton House on Wednesday 13th May,2009.



Last week six carers met Sir Leigh Lewis, Permanent Secretary at the Department for Work and Pensions, Terry Moran, Chief Executive of the Pensions, Disability and Carers Service and Jeremy Groombridge, Director of Policy at Jobcentre Plus, to talk about their experiences of using the benefits system.

Election Proceedure
There are 4 posts for the Committee that are vacant, Chair, vice, liaison and secretary. Admin will remain on the commitee.
Anyone may nominate themselves with 2 seconders, each as a seperate post.
People are then asked to send in their vote to the google e-mail.
During this time anyone may register, but the only votes to be counted will be those sent by e-mail and only one per person per vacant
 (4)post.

FOLLOW UP
We are receiving information that things are still
ongoing after the protest, MP's in various areas
have agreed to see carers, either a question and answer
meeting or an informal chat.
We have also had invitations to meetings, however,
being carers ourselves we sometimes have had to arrange for
other carers to take our places, if anyone is interested
in participating in any of the ongoing meetings etc
could they pm/email the committee.
